Ride for the Light exists to provide transportation and equipment for missionaries to meet needs around the world
Details
A non-competitive, family friendly bike ride designed to promote health, wellness, and community involvement.
Distances
Participants may choose the distance best suited for their ability: Pontotoc to Houston and back (50 miles); Pontotoc to Houlka and back (approx, 30 miles), or Pontotoc to Algoma and back (approx. 10 miles).
T-Shirt
A specially designed dri-fit t-shirt and participation medal will be given to those who register by May 15, 2024. T-Shirts and medals will be available for late registrants as long as supplies last.
Start / End Point
The ride route will begin at the First Choice Bank Gateway100 College St, Pontotoc, MS and travel south along the mostly shaded, scenic, wooded Tanglefoot Trail®
Food and Reststops
Snacks will be available at the Pontotoc Gateway, the Algoma and New Houlka Whistlestops, and the Houston Trailhead. Each of these stops also have restrooms. Upon completion of the ride a light meal will be served at the Pontotoc Gateway.
Speed the Light
Ride for the Light exists to benefit Speed the Light, Speed the Light is a national youth driven initiative that provides transportation and equipment that makes it possible for missionaries to serve the needs of people around the world. Speed the light has provided everything from eighteen wheelers to bicycles to donkeys and a rumored yak or two. What ever it takes to get the help where it is needed Speed the Light is ready.
